Tail Lift Vehicle Delivery Service

What Is a tail lift?

A tail lift is a mechanically operated piece of equipment found on the back of vehicles such as Luton vans which are used to raise and lower goods. It’s a hydraulic lift that is used to aid in the lowering of large items to the ground for the back of the truck. Tail lifts are a great help when it comes to large, bulky, or heavy items—such as pallets, tiles, and large odd-shaped exhibition material. They’re designed to make it far easier to unload items that are too heavy to unload from the vehicle by hand.

When are vehicles with a tail lift used?

At Greg Paulson Same Day Couriers, we’d advise our customers to book a tail lift vehicle delivery service when they have a consignment that is more than 60kg and can’t be lifted safely by two people. If you don’t have access to a forklift truck a loading dock to load the vehicle from a tail lift delivery service would be the best option.

When is a tail lift vehicle not required?

A tail lift delivery service won’t be required if:

  • Your consignment is being collected/delivered to a location with a loading bay/dock
  • There is a forklift truck available on site.
  • The goods being transported are light enough to load & unload by hand

Not all vehicles are fitted with a tail lift, so if you think your goods require a van that comes equipped with one, it’s vital that you make us aware of this when you’re booking our courier service.

If you’re not sure, it’s not a problem, just tell one of our experienced team the details of your goods, such as weights and dimensions and we’ll assess the load then let you know if one will be required.

Feel free to get in touch with us on 0161 436 3296 or at enquiries@gregpaulsoncourier.co.uk.

We’d be pleased to provide any information you may need or a quote for a tail lift delivery service.
